WHAT IS PDO THREAD LIFTING?
PDO Thread Lifting is a non-surgical facelift treatment that uses advanced Polydioxanone (PDO) threads to instantly lift and reposition sagging skin while stimulating long-term collagen production.
Fine, medical-grade PDO threads are gently inserted under the skin to create a supportive mesh that lifts the treated areas, improves facial contours, and tightens loose skin. Over time, the threads naturally dissolve, encouraging your body to produce fresh collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother skin.

PDO Thread Lifting – Treatment Plan
Most patients achieve noticeable lifting and rejuvenation with just one treatment session.
What to Expect:
Initial Treatment: A single session is often sufficient for mild to moderate sagging. Your doctor will use the right number and type of PDO threads (typically 4–20 threads total, depending on the areas treated) to lift the face, jawline, neck, or brows.
Optimal Results: For more significant skin laxity or enhanced collagen stimulation, 1–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart may be recommended.
Maintenance: Results typically last 12–18 months. A maintenance session is usually advised every 12–18 months to sustain the lifted, youthful appearance.
The exact number of threads and sessions will be determined during your personalized consultation at J’Clinic, based on your age, skin condition, and aesthetic goals.

Most patients find it very tolerable.
During the Procedure:
We use strong local anesthesia (numbing injections + sometimes topical cream) to keep you comfortable.
You may feel slight pinching at the start (when numbing is applied), followed by a sensation of pressure or gentle tugging as the threads are placed.
Most people describe it as mild discomfort (3–5 out of 10), not sharp pain. The entire process usually takes 30–60 minutes.
After the Procedure:
Mild soreness, tightness, or tenderness is common for 3–7 days.
Some swelling or bruising may appear but typically fades within 1–2 weeks.
Over-the-counter pain relief (like paracetamol) is usually enough to manage any discomfort.
-
Minimal downtime. Most patients return to normal daily activities within 1–3 days.
What to Expect:
In the first 1–2 days you may experience mild swelling, skin tightness, and some bruising. These effects are usually easy to cover with light makeup after 24 hours.
By day 3 to 7, most swelling and bruising has significantly reduced or disappeared.
After 1–2 weeks, almost all visible signs are gone and you can resume all normal activities.
You can typically return to work the next day or the day after. We recommend avoiding intense exercise, saunas, facial massages, and alcohol for about 7–10 days to ensure the best healing.
-
Results typically last 12–18 months.
What to Expect:
You’ll see an immediate lifting effect right after the treatment.
Results continue to improve over the next 2–3 months as your body produces new collagen and elastin around the threads.
The PDO threads gradually dissolve over 6–8 months, but the collagen they stimulate keeps your skin firmer and more lifted for the full 12–18 months.
After that, the natural aging process slowly resumes, so many clients return for a maintenance session every 12–18 months to keep the youthful, lifted look.
Factors That Affect Longevity:
Your age and skin condition
Lifestyle (sun exposure, smoking, skincare routine)
Number and type of threads used
How well you follow aftercare instructions
-
Most side effects are mild and temporary. Serious complications are rare when performed by an experienced doctor.
Common & Expected Side Effects:
Mild to moderate swelling and bruising (usually lasts 3–7 days)
Skin tightness or tenderness in the treated area (peaks in the first few days)
Slight soreness or a feeling of pressure
Temporary dimpling or small skin irregularities (these usually settle within 1–2 weeks)
These effects are normal as the threads settle under the skin and are easily managed with simple aftercare.
Rare Side Effects (less than 1–2% of cases):
Infection
Thread extrusion or visibility
Asymmetry
Prolonged swelling or nerve irritation

Here’s what you need to do before your appointment at J’Clinic:
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 5–7 days before treatment: Aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, and other blood thinners. (Always check with your doctor first if you’re on prescribed medication.)
Stop alcohol for at least 48 hours before your session to reduce the risk of bruising.
Avoid certain skincare products for 3–5 days prior: Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and strong exfoliants.
Come with a clean face: No makeup, moisturizer, or sunscreen on the day of treatment.
Eat a light meal before your appointment and stay well hydrated.
Inform us in advance if you have any medical conditions, allergies, cold sores, or are taking any medications.
Wear comfortable clothing with a button-up or zip-up top (avoid tight pull-over clothes).
Following these simple steps helps minimize swelling and bruising, and ensures the best possible result.
